Man Utd told world class playmaker available for £50million

Manchester United could have been just handed a huge boost in terms of luring one of the best attacking midfielders on the planet to Old Trafford. According to the Daily Mirror, Jose Mourinho has been told he can sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid for £50million.

The Columbian international joined Real Madrid on the back of a stunning World Cup campaign two years ago, but hasn’t really kicked on from there. That’s largely due to the fact that he hasn’t been given that much playing time, which Rodriguez clearly isn’t happy with.

Now 24, Rodriguez is growing increasingly frustrated about his position and is ready to move on to further his career.

One thing is for certain – Manchester United are favourites at the moment, but they’d certainly face stiff competition for his signature if he officially announces his plans to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the modern market, £50million for a player of his calibre doesn’t sound ridiculously expensive either, so it could well be worth the risk.
