Manchester United’s eyes will be solely focused on the upcoming derby, but ahead of the game the club have been dealt somewhat of a blow, after Louis van Gaal confirmed that a trio of players will miss the game through injury.
Robin van Persie, Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira have all been ruled out of the game, which in a weird way will probably make Louis van Gaal’s team selection slightly easier.
Despite training today and yesterday, the Flying Dutchman isn’t quite fit enough to feature in the match day squad, all-but confirming Louis van Gaal will persist with the 4-3-3 formation.
Luke Shaw is becoming a bit of a concern. He was brought to the club expected to be United’s natural replacement for Patrice Evra, but a series of injuries have seriously halted his progress.
Andreas Pereira will also miss the game, but it was highly unlikely that he’d feature anyway.
