Man Utd trio ruled out of Everton clash

Manchester United head to a hunting ground that has been hit and miss for the lads in recent years, with a potentially tricky trip to Everton coming this Sunday. Ahead of the game, Van Gaal has a minor selection dilemma on his hands due to injuries.

Our Dutch manager met the media today, and confirmed that Michael Carrick, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo will all miss the clash due to varying injuries.

Michael Carrick came off late in the Manchester derby due to an shin problem which he hasn’t recovered from in time, which will be a huge blow for our midfield.

Marcos Rojo has a groin problem, but the club are hopeful that he’ll be fit and ready to return for the next home game in just over a weeks time, whereas Phil Jones is suffering from an ankle injury and isn’t expected to be out for a prolonged period of time.

The biggest of these injuries is quite clearly the Michael Carrick one, with Daley Blind a doubt, it means that Wayne Rooney might have to continue in the holding midfielder role, which is a position he may struggle with against a combative midfield.
