Manchester United’s David de Gea scooped another double at the awards show last night, as he took home both the Players Player of the Year and the Fans Player of the Year Awards after yet another fantastic season.
We all know that his future at the club is well and truly up in the air, but according to COPE in Spain, United are going to refuse all offers from Madrid for the 24-year old shot-stopper.
They go on to say that De Gea will stay at Old Trafford for at least one more season, and Real Madrid have now turned their attention to Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno as a stopgap.
We all know what a tough decision De Gea has to make, but if reports that Madrid are only looking to pay £14million for him then United must stay strong and continue to reject that. I’d rather get one more season out of David, as it gives Van Gaal another year to get the decision for a replacement keeper 100% correct.
