Its all gone a bit quiet in terms of Manchester United transfers, and the latest rumour on the web involves Angel di Maria going to Paris Saint-Germain in a swap deal involving Edinson Cavani. The news comes from the Daily Star though, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Angel di Maria made a fantastic start to life at Old Trafford, but since the turn of the year he really struggled with form and confidence. However, given a good run in the side there is no doubt that he will prove all his doubters wrong and perform like the world beater we know he is.
Edinson Cavani is a very hit and miss striker. United do need a new front man but I’d much prefer someone with a bit of pace to come in instead of the Uruguayan.
Personally I wouldn’t do this deal. Angel di Maria still has plenty to offer Manchester United, and whenever Edinson Cavani plays against English teams he always seems to under perform. I say give our Argentine another season and lets see how he does before making a decision on his long-term future.
