Man Utd youngster wins Man of the Match award in first competitive game

Manchester United’s famous youth academy may be on the verge of producing another potentially huge talent, but its early doors yet for the young Ben Pearson. The midfielder was recently sent out on loan to Barnsley FC, and he made his first start in competitive football today.

Pearson, who turned twenty last week was named Man of the Match in that game, after a dominating performance from the centre of the park. The Oldham born lad has been at the club for over ten years now, and its great to see our youth going out on loan and putting in these types of performances.

For the last couple of years Pearson has been playing extremely well for United’s reserves, and it was felt that it was only a matter of time before a loan move came to fruition. Albeit only a month loan deal, the experience could prove vital for the young man and theres no doubt he’ll come back to the club a better player.

Barnsley won the game 2-0.

Does Pearson have what it takes to make it at United? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
