Man Utd’s David de Gea replacement identified

The future of David de Gea is stil up in the air, and it’s a saga that has been dragging on too long and it looks like we’re going to lose our first choice goalkeeper. With that said, the club will always be bigger than any individual, and United must hunt down a replacement.

According to fresh reports, Louis van Gaal has identified his Dutch compatriot Jasper Cillessen as the primary target, with the Ajax man thought to be keen on linking up with Van Gaal again.

For me, signing Cillessen would be largely underwhelming. Yes, he is a talented keeper but you kind of expect better at Manchester United.

Personally I would like to see someone who is proven in the Premier League come in, and Petr Cech or Hugo Lloris would both be ideal candidates.

At the end of the day, Van Gaal knows Cillessen well and he has worked with him before so he may know his capabilities.

Would Cillessen be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
