Manchester United are set for another huge summer transfer window in terms of spending, with Louis van Gaal eyeing various targets in differing positions to give his side the best possible chance at winning the league next season.
According to the usually reliable De Telegraaf, who successfully reported Louis van Gaal as United’s next manager before the move happened, say that the club are targeting three key players: Memphis Depay, Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels.
With De Telegraaf being a Dutch outlet, you’d imagine they’d have more sources in regards to the player who currently plays his football in the Eredivisie. Depay has often been linked to United in recent weeks, with the fee set to be somewhere around the £25million mark.
Last week, Sky Sports said that a fee for Dortmund was close to being agreed, with the 24-year old set to move to United after refusing to sign a new contract with just twelve months left on his current deal.
Finally, we come onto Mats Hummels. The German centre-back has won it all in his homeland, including a World Cup victory last season. His future is thought to be up in the air at the moment, and if United swooped they’d surely have a great chance at landing his signature.
