Man Utd’s move for £17million man confirmed

The transfer window doesn’t open for a few months yet, but Manchester United have already completed their first bit of transfer business. It comes in the form of the £17million rated Southampton right-back, Nathaniel Clyne.

Clyne has been the outstanding right-back in the league this season, as an excellent Southampton side have flourished under the guidance of Louis van Gaal’s foe, Ronald Koeman.

David McDonnell of the Mirror said on MUTV: “From what I’m told, it’s a done deal.”

The deal for Clyne is thought to be worth £17million, and he is excited about the prospect of joining Manchester United.

We’ve lacked any real quality in the right-back spot for a few years now. Rafael is too inconsistent with injuries and Valencia isn’t a natural defender who isn’t blessed with good feet.

Clyne would be the perfect option for us here, and he’d certainly improve our starting line-up.
