Man Utd’s move for German star ‘moving closer’

Manchester United and Louis van Gaal are clearly keen to bring in some backup for Michael Carrick this summer, and one player who has been on the radar is Bastian Schweinsteiger of Bayern Munich, who could well be an obtainable target this transfer window.

Reports in Germany suggest that a deal to bring the 30-year old to Old Trafford is moving steadily along, with both clubs having a plan to take him to United.

Sportbild go on to say that the aforementioned deal is in its early stages, but United could well get their man this summer.

Any deal for Schweinsteiger looks far more likely than a move for Sergio Ramos. The German international has been in and out of the Bayern starting line-up, and he could well leave Bavaria for a cut-price fee this summer.

Would Schweinsteiger be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. This is all well and good, but has anybody seen or heard from Ed Woodward in the last 3-4 weeks? Where is he? Is he dead? or is he still on holiday? Somebody must know where he is!
