Manchester United head to the United States of America today, to begin their pre-season tour of the States, starting in Seattle. The club have announced a 26-man squad who’ll be involved, and you’ll be pleased to see that all four of the clubs new signings have been included.
The first game takes place on the 18th July at 04:00 GMT, against Club America.
Tour squad in full:
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Lindegaard, Johnstone.
Defenders: Smalling, Jones Evans , Shaw, McNair, Blackett, Darmian, Valencia.
Midfielders: Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Mata, Herrera, Januzaj, Fellaini, Lingard, Pereira, Young, Depay, Carrick, Goss.
Forwards: Rooney, Wilson.
There are a few people missing. Both Marcos Rojo and Angel di Maria have been given time off due to their participation in the Copa America, whereas Rafael and Victor Valdes could both be on their way out of Old Trafford this summer.
As you can see we look very thin on the ground in terms of strikers now that Robin van Persie, Angelo Henriquez and Radamel Falcao have left. There is also no place for the injured Javier Hernandez.
