Manchester United and their fans have been used to watching the team add silverware to the cabinet pretty much year-in year-out over the last twenty years or so, but it has been mightily different since Sir Alex Ferguson decided to call it quits.
A seventh placed finish led to David Moyes being sacked, before Louis van Gaal took over the reigns and steadied the ship somewhat by returning European football to Old Trafford.
The former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has had his say on the whole situation, and claimed that United fans have been spoilt in recent years.
“MUFC fans have been spoilt. They’re used to watching players guided by a manager like SAF but those days are over.” Redknapp said.
“It is very difficult to replicate what SAF did. Just ask David Moyes. LvG is much more regimented in the way he plays.”
He’s right, too. I think United are a club that are too big to start tumbling down the table. The glory days will return, and I’m confident of that. Hopefully it’ll be sooner rather than later though…
