Manchester United’s first derby of the season could be about to get called off, due to torrential rain in Beijing. That’s according to ESPN, who say Monday’s fixture is in major doubt as flooding could be a real issue, ahead of the 12:30 kick-off in the Birds Nest.
This would be a real good test for Mourinho’s men, and give a real indicator as to where exactly United are at in terms of fitness. It would also be the first time that Jose and Pep will go head-to-head in charge of English teams.
Although it will take some of the shimmer of the first league meeting in September, it’ll certainly be a game that’ll excite both sets of fans.
Hopefully, the groundsman can get the pitch in a playable condition and the downpour hangs off for a couple of hours around midday tomorrow – allowing United to get another key game under their belts as the build-up to the Premier League continues.
