Manchester United about to clinch fifth summer signing within 48 hours

Jose Mourinho has said that Manchester United would only make four signings this summer, but if the right players comes up, then he could well be tempted. Now, the latest reports suggest that the Old Trafford club could be on the verge of landing a fifth new player.

The Manchester Evening News quote The Sun, and they say that Manchester United are in pole position to land Brazilian starlet, Gabriel Barbosa.

Barbosa, 19, currently plies his trade for Santos out in his homeland, and is regarded as one of the next big things that’ll come out of one of the footballing capitals of the world.

Earlier in the window it was thought that Jose Mourinho enquired the board about getting extra funds to land either Barbosa or Gabriel Jesus, but at the time it was rejected. Now, after such a positive start, the board are willing to sanction the money required.

The reports finally add that a deal could be complete within 48 hours, with Barbosa expected to sign on the dotted line shortly. However, the number 48 certainly provided us with plenty of annoyance during the Paul Pogba saga, so lets just see how this one plays out.
