Manchester United add two new players to Champions League squad

Manchester United have added both Angel Gomes and Ethan Hamilton to their Champions League squad, per the Daily Mirror.

The young pair have been added to the ‘B’ list, which is for players who were born on or after January 1st 1996, while being eligible to play for the club for two years since their 15th birthday.

Gomes and Hamilton saw their names included in United’s Champions League list following the Red Devils’ 0-0 draw away at Sevilla.

Whether the club is actually planning on utilising the duo is another matter entirely. Obviously, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see them involved in the latter end of the competition this year, but what a morale booster it’ll be for both of them.

As we’ve seen, Gomes is more than capable talent-wise. He’s only played twice for United, both cameo substitute appearances, but he looks the real deal already and I simply cannot wait to see more of this young man in action as time goes on.

Hamilton is a relative unknown amongst the Old Trafford faithful. He was called up to the squad for the first time following Paul Pogba’s illness, but again, it’s an indicator which suggests that the manager trusts the midfielder wholeheartedly.
