Manchester United could well be closing in on their first summer signing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Baby Faced Assassin has to undertake a major rebuilding job and according to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils have agreed a £15million fee with Swansea City to sign winger Daniel James.
Aged 21, James can play on either wing, and a deal is now in place as Solskjaer begins rebuilding his United squad for the long-term.
I’d be lying to you if I said I’ve seen James play on a regular basis. The 2018/19 campaign was his breakthrough season though, scoring five times and tacking on ten assists for his teammates.
Honestly I’m just happy to see United targeting youth once again. Moves for big-name, marquee signings just haven’t worked out quite as you’d expect them to recently and it’s time for this club to get back to its roots.
It will take James time to develop and grow, plus, he has to adapt to the Premier League which isn’t an easy step up in quality to adjust to.
The fact that this is a reasonably cheap deal means James can play without the spotlight being firmly fixated upon him. He should get ample opportunity, too, as United’s right-wing has been a real problem position recently – with nobody proving able to nail down their place in the side.
