Manchester United have reached a deal in principle to sign Colombian star, James Rodriguez. That’s according to Spanish media outlet Diario Madridsta translated by the Daily Express. They claim that the Red Devils are in pole position to sign Real Madrid’s 25-year-old this summer.
With that in mind, there are a whole host of elite level European clubs chasing for the signature of Rodriguez, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG and Inter Milan showing an interest.
The report adds that the attacking midfielder is growing in frustration at a lack of playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu, and you’d imagine that he probably wasn’t best pleased with being completely left out of their Champions League final squad.
Rodriguez already has a verbal agreement in place wit the Red Devils apparently, and what a massive statement of intent it would be in regards to Manchester United’s stature on the global stage. It comes after the Old Trafford club will seemingly keep hold of David de Gea, whilst also completing the signature of Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
At 25, the Colombia star has time on his side, but yet he is already a brilliantly talented individual who could come into our team straight away. We lacked that creative spark in those tight-knit games last year, and bringing in Rodriguez would definitely improve us quite dramatically in such a key area of the field.
