Manchester United have agreed a €30m (£24m) fee for Atletico Madrid centre-back Miranda, according to Spanish media outlet AS. The 29-year old was an integral part of Atletico’s title-winning side last season, alongside Diego Godin as the centre-back pairing.
Manchester United need experience at the back after losing both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, and at 29 Miranda certainly brings that. The Brazilian is 6’1 tall and is an excellent reader of the game, he’s superb in the air and he also has excellent pace for a centre-back – all traits that are required if you want to succeed in the English game.
My only worry would be the size of the transfer fee. £25m is a heck of a lot of money to pay for someone who you’ll probably only get two, maybe three years of him at his peak. However Manchester United will have to pay big this summer no matter who they bring in, and thats all down to the failings both on and off the pitch which happened last season.

It would be great to see him at united but without champions league it might not happen
