Manchester United could well be nearing on the completion of a second major signing this summer, in the form of Ivan Perisic. That’s according to Premium Sport, translated by the Daily Star. The Italian media outlet cite sources close to the player, who apparently has his heart set on an Old Trafford move.
Perisic, 28, apparently wants to work with Jose Mourinho, and feels he has progressed as far as he can with Inter Milan.
However, a fee is yet to be agreed and the usually reliable Gianluca Di Marzio is claiming that United’s latest offer of close to £40million has indeed been snubbed. Surely, if the Red Devils want to sign him badly enough, they’ll pay whatever is required to sort out a move.
When you look at the squad, there aren’t many players who are right at the peak of their powers in terms of age, and the Croatia international fits that bill. We struggled in attack at times last term, and perhaps that was down to a naivety of youth. Perisic would fix that problem, and with a wise head upon his shoulders, you’d fancy us tp create many more chances in the final third.
This is a man who is a deadly crosser of the ball and loves to work the channels as much as possible. He has a trick or two in his locker, but perhaps what is most intriguing to Mourinho is the fact that he will work hard on both sides of the ball.
