Manchester United agree personal terms with insanely good 26-year-old: report

The rumours just will not stop. Manchester United Football Club are seemingly intent on landing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer. If they achieve the feat, it’ll no doubt send out a real message to the rest of the Premier League; we mean business.

Now we’ve been given another update in the seemingly endless saga, and it comes from the usually reliable Italian journalist, Tancredi Palmeri. Yesterday, he tweeted that Manchester United and Griezmann have actually agreed on personal terms, and it is now up to the two sides to agree upon a fee.

Have a look at Tancredi Palmeri’s tweet here:

What a brilliant acquisition Antoine Griezmann would be. We have to remember that six months ago, the 26-year-old came in third place for the Ballon d’Or voting, only bettered by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

In terms of a fit, I can’t think of anything better. Mourinho’s team struggled for goals at times over his first season in charge with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the only real output in terms of production. Griezmann has scored over twenty goals in his last four seasons in professional football, and a lot of that time he has played out wide.

If he can replicate that goalscoring form in the Premier League alongside the aforementioned Ibrahimovic, then we could have a strikeforce that every other side in the country will fear.

Now, it’s down to Manchester United to get to work on Atletico and sort out a deal that suits all parties. Money should be no issue because as we all know, the board aren’t afraid to splash the cash for the right player – just look at the Paul Pogba deal from last year.
