Manchester United agree Toni Kroos deal ‘in principle’

According to the Express, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have agreed a fee for Toni Kroos to switch Bavaria for Manchester this summer. United have been in talks with Bayern over the past two months, and the German side are wary that Kroos’ contract expires in just twelve months time.

Rather than risk losing their man on a free transfer next summer, Bayern Munich are willing to cash in now if a suitable offer – thought to be around £40million, comes in.

Toni Kroos was thought to be keen on a switch to Old Trafford even when David Moyes was in charge. His desire has been boosted further since Louis van Gaal has been named Manchester United boss, as the pair previously worked together at Bayern Munich.

The 24-year old playmaker has it all. He can pass both short and long, he reads the game beautifully and doesn’t mind tracking back either. He’d suit being in our midfield alongside someone like Michael Carrick or Kevin Strootman, who’d allow Kroos to push forward and pick out that killer pass.

For me he has to be our #1 transfer target for the summer. If he’s obtainable then United must go all out and pay whatever Bayern want for him; Its as simple as that.
