Manchester United already make their first summer signing, €40m plus add-ons

Manchester United already have their first signing of the summer, according to Esparto Interativo, and its an expensive one. The Portuguese media outlet say that Louis van Gaal has agreed to bring in SL Benfica man Renato Sanches, in a deal worth €40m up front with €20m in add-ons available.

There have been rumours linking young Sanches with a move to Old Trafford since the January transfer window, but if these reports are to be believed, the 18-year old will be playing in the red of Manchester United from next season.

A whole host of big clubs have been chasing the signature of the young Portugal attacking midfielder, but it has always felt like United have had the upper-hand in that regard.

The €40million fee seems rather steep however as you’re only investing in talent rather than proven ability, but if you have as much money as Manchester United then you can certainly afford to take that gamble.
