The January transfer window is almost upon us, and its clear Louis van Gaal is working hard to bring in new faces to try and fire his side to a second half of the season title charge. Links are popping up left, right and centre, and the latest reports come from the Standard.
The English publication say that Manchester United and Arsenal are set to go head-to-head for the signature of Ajax’s Abdelhak Nouri, who plays his football for Ajax.
Nouri, 18, is a central midfielder who recently made his debut for the Dutch side, and is making great strides out in the Netherlands. It is thought that Louis van Gaal has plenty of interest in Nouri, and his ties with Ajax mean that United are the current favourites over Arsenal.
You feel that talent doesn’t always turn into world class quality, and at this point in time United need proven ability rather than prospects, despite how much potential he has.
