Manchester United and Chelsea are set to battle it out for the signature of former Arsenal midfielder, Alex Song. The 26-year old Cameroonian was on the periphery of the Barcelona team last season, and according to the Daily Star, he could be available for around £20million.
First of all, £20million seems like a steep amount of money if you ask me. Song has played less than forty games in the last two seasons, only playing in the lesser games when Sergio Busquets needs a rest. He has often filled in at centre-back when needed too, which cannot be good for his development as a midfielder.
Song was an excellent holding midfielder during his Arsenal days, but I must admit if we went in for him now I’d be pretty disappointed – especially after all this talk of players like Arturo Vidal being on the radar.

Yes, I think you should go all out to sign him. He’s an excellent player and undervalued at 20mill. Get in there quickly before the Chelski nick him from you. We certainly don’t need him back at Arsenal.
