Just a couple of days ago, we covered a story from Sport1 in which it was claimed that Borussia Dortmund were ‘totally relaxed’ about Jadon Sancho’s future, amid interest from Manchester United.
We’ve been covering almost daily updates on Sancho for the last few months, in a transfer that, to me anyway, feels like an inevitability at some point.
Well, we’ve been offered another hugely positive update over the last 24 hours, and it comes from the reliable journo, Fabrizio Romano. The Italian, who has been spot on with United news over the last couple of seasons, is claiming that the Reds, from top to bottom, are ‘in love’ with Sancho, while contact has already been made with the player’s agent.
Manchester United are speaking with Jadon Sancho and are still in contact with his agent. The contract won’t be a problem. The player knows Manchester United.” Fabrizio Romano said live on The United Stand.
“United are in love with Jadon Sancho. The management, Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Everyone at Manchester United is in love with Jadon Sancho.”
“Borussia Dortmund are relaxed about the situation. They have not received any bids.
So far, no official bid has been made, while the contract between United and the player won’t be a problem. Make no mistake about it, this would be the coup of the summer if the Old Trafford club can pull it off.
Sancho fits the mould that Solskjaer has identified over the last couple of windows, young, preferably homegrown and still learning as a footballer. He’d be a part of a team that want to compete for multiple years, as opposed to just one or two seasons.
The Reds haven’t had an elite-calibre right-winger since Cristiano Ronaldo left and Sancho would definitely fill that void. Him in a front three with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial really is the stuff of dreams.
Hopefully, the Reds firm up their interest with an official bid in the not too distant future and get this ball rolling.
