Manchester United Football Club will constantly be linked with some of the biggest names in world football. I guess that just comes with the territory of being one of the biggest clubs in the world. Now, we’ve been rumoured to be interested a former player.
That’s according to James Ducker in the Daily Telegraph. He says that United are leading the race to sign centre-back Michael Keane from Burnley. A player that Louis van Gaal let go of when the Dutchman was in charge.
Jose has apparently made it clear that Keane would have stayed if he’d have taken over summer, and that would certainly mean that a move could be on the cards as the boss is obviously a fan.
To be honest, Keane is a far better option to have than both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. At the very least, he’s reliable as he isn’t constantly injured. I’d also suggest that he is probably more talented.
I’d love to see this deal happen, it’s just disappointing that it had to come to this in the first place. Once again, we’ve let another potentially brilliant player leave for next to nothing, and no doubt we’ll pay way over the odds if we do decide to bring him back.
