Manchester United are closing in on their first summer signing, and its a big one. Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is well on his way to becoming a Manchester United player, as Sky Sources claim a fee between the clubs is close to being agreed.
That figure is thought to be somewhere in the region of £21.5million, which for a 24-year old with just twelve months left on his contract is quite expensive.
United have been keen on the German for a while, and probably would’ve signed him last summer if he didn’t have that horrific injury which kept him out for a whole year.
He’d be a welcome addition to the club, his dynamism in the middle of the park will be a real asset for Manchester United, and he could well be a long-term successor to Michael Carrick.
