Manchester United’s tradition of promoting youth and giving starlets a chance has been ever-present in the first-team this season, largely thanks to a whole host of injuries. One man who has taken his opportunity more than most is Marcus Rashford, who is now a regular.
The 18-year old is yet to sign a new contract at Old Trafford, and there has been some unease amongst the fans as his contract runs out at the end of the season – however there is some good news on that front.
According to the Daily Star, Rashford is reportedly close to agreeing a new long-term deal which will keep him at Manchester United for the foreseeable future.
This is great news, but it honestly was never in doubt. Rashford is a red through and through, and having just broken through to the first team, you’d imagine he himself would be eager to just get the deal signed so he can concentrate on his football.
