Manchester United Football Club have a habit of buying young talents and turning them into future world class stars, and they proved that with Anthony Martial this summer. The club are looking to try and repeat the trick this summer, with a certain Portuguese attacking midfielder.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are close to signing SL Benfica’s Renato Sanches, for a huge £35million which is his release clause – however after various add-ons and bonuses, it could rise to around the £40million mark.
The MEN go on to say that United are keen to get this deal wrapped up soon, to ensure other potential suitors for Sanches don’t have time to act and challenge for his signature.
At 18, there is always going to be a large amount of risk involved in this kind of deal. He’s pure talent at this point and nowhere close to being the finished article. However if one club can afford to take this risk it is Manchester United, and they’ve done this kind of thing so often in the past with success so its definitely worth the gamble.
