After completing a deal for Victor Lindelof late last month, Manchester United could be nearing the completion of their second signing. That’s according to Sky Italia, translated by The Sun. They are claiming that the Red Devils are increasingly confident of securing a ‘cut-price deal’ for Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan.
Apparently, the Serie A side are already preparing for the departure of the Croatia international, with a move for Borja Valero in the offing.
Originally, it had felt like United were struggling to agree a deal with Perisic and Milan, but it looks like this latest news will at least give them encouragement in their pursuit.
Perisic is an excellent footballer who would add an awful lot to Manchester United’s playing squad. He’s a great crosser of the ball, has plenty of tricks in his locker and he will try something out of the ordinary.
Although the report says United are closing in on a ‘cut-price deal’, no actual fee is mentioned, but you’d imagine that Inter’s £45million price tag has been lowered somewhat.
To be brutally honest, I feel that Edward Woodward just needs to stop dilly-dallying and start pushing deals over the line as Jose Mourinho is probably getting rather frustrated.
