Manchester United are close to sealing a deal to bring Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford, reports The Guardian.
Apparently, Arsene Wenger has stated that the Chilean’s future will be resolved within 48 hours, and the red half of Manchester is now his likely destination – a huge boost to everyone involved with United.
The report goes on to add that The Gunners are trying to get Henrikh Mkhitaryan as any part of the deal, which I wouldn’t be against, following a poor spell from the Armenia star.
This move has come from absolutely nowhere, and what a sensational signing it would be if Jose Mourinho and Edward Woodward could pull this one off.
It has always felt like we’ve been missing that marquee attacker and Sanchez would certainly fill that void. He’s perfect as he’d give us some much-needed consistency from the wings, and he’ll score goals aplenty from now until the end of the season – in both the Premier League and European competition.
We should pay whatever it takes to bring him and get the deal over the line as soon as possible. Players of his calibre don’t become available all that often, and it’s already showing similarities to Robin van Persie’s move to Old Trafford.
