Manchester United closing in on Yevhen Konoplyanka

Manchester United are looking for a big overhaul of players this summer, and that could all start with Dnipro’s Yevhen Konoplyanka, claim talksPORT. Liverpool were heavy favourites for the 24-year old’s signature back in January, but now United have taken pole position.

The versatile winger can play anywhere from left-wing, the #10 role and also right-wing, and he scored eight goals to help his current side Dnipro make it into the Champions League next season. He also scored a goal against England in World Cup qualifying in the 1-1 draw against his native Ukraine last year.

A club source told Ukrainian media:

“Officially, there’s a specific amount for which we don’t have the right to not release Konoplyanka,” the source said.

“If Man United offer favourable conditions and agree terms with Konoplyanka, then no one can do anything.”

Ukraine aren’t in the World Cup, so if United are trying to bring Konoplyanka to Old Trafford then they can continue talks throughout the summer, meaning Konoplyanka could well be the first signing under the Louis van Gaal era.

From what I’ve seen of him he’s a very tricky player, who on his day is capable of beating the best fullbacks. I watched him toy with the Tottenham defence in the Europa League this season, and signing him would certainly give us another good option in the wide areas.

  1. He’s already said that he would rather stay at the club to play champions league than joining united,so chances of him moving to man united is almost impossible
