Manchester United are considering making a January move for Arsenal and Wales midfielder, Aaron Ramsey.
That’s according to The Sun, per the Manchester Evening News, with Arsenal growing increasingly worried that the 27-year-old could choose to leave when the winter window opens; as he is yet to agree a new deal at The Emirates.
Apparently, Arsenal are ready to up their efforts in trying to retain Ramsey’s services as to not lose another player to Old Trafford, similar to how Robin van Persie left back in 2012…
Honestly, though, outside of getting under Arsenal’s skin, I’m not sure whether this move is all that beneficial.
We’ve already added Fred this summer, while Andreas Pereira has emerged as a viable midfield option. There are far more pressing matters, including centre-half and right-wing.
The only way this deal makes sense is if we’re preparing to lose a midfielder. Perhaps Ander Herrera? But is Ramsey really that much of an upgrade on the Basque-born 28-year-old? I’m not convinced.
One thing is for certain, this squad does need reinforcements. I’m just not convinced that the board believe Jose Mourinho is the man for the job. If they did, they would have allowed him to spend more over the summer.
