Last summer, Manchester United brought in Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin for a fee of around £25million. Many thought that he’d be the vital cog in a struggling midfield, but sadly in the Frenchman didn’t showcase his talents to anywhere near his full capacity.
Schneiderlin hasn’t featured at all for Jose Mourinho’s new-look Manchester United side to start of this season, and that has led to questions about his long-term future at the Theatre of Dreams.
Now according to today’s Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have shown late interest in signing the 26-year-old before tonight’s deadline slams shut. After failing with a bid for Moussa Sissokho of Newcastle, Pochettino’s attentions have turned to Schneiderlin.
You feel it would be a bit odd to let Morgan Schneiderlin leave so late on in the transfer window, particularly if Marouane Fellaini’s back injury is anything serious.
The Frenchman is one of the best central midfielders on his day, and to let him go after just twelve months could come back to haunt Manchester United; Particularly if he moves to another Premier League side.
