Manchester United superstar Anthony Martial could still leave the club this summer, with AC Milan identifying the 22-year-old as their ‘leading candidate’ in an attempt to sign an attacker.
That’s according to La Repubblica, translated by the Manchester Evening News. Martial is keen to leave Old Trafford during this window, with the club doing their utmost to keep ahold of the former AS Monaco man.
However, frustrations have probably been growing for Martial following his exclusion from the match-day squad that took on Leicester City on Friday night.
With the transfer window in England closed, it means United would have no time to find a replacement, but given the fact that his unhappiness is probably only spreading toxicity in the dressing room, it’s something that Edward Woodward has to consider.
Martial’s talent is undeniable. He’s a wonderfully gifted footballer. Sometimes, though, it’s best to move a player on. At least we know that he won’t be heading to another English club during this window, but if a suitable offer comes in from abroad, don’t be surprised to see United cash in.
He’s hardly going to hurt us playing in the Serie A every week, so this move seems to make sense. Then, at least the manager would have some money to spend when January rolls around.
