Manchester United haven’t had the best of times lately, particularly on the injury front.
Just when you feel as though things have turned a corner, you get knocked right back down again. Now, according to the usually excellent Duncan Castles, United winger Alexis Sanchez is to be sidelined for at least a month.
The Chilean suffered a hamstring injury in training on Thursday, but it must be a rather serious problem if he’s going to be out for four-weeks plus. What’s worse is that we’re now approaching the hectic winter period and we need all the bodies we can get…

Just when you think Sanchez was beginning to turn a corner, he gets some more rotten luck. Honestly, it really hasn’t worked out well for him at Old Trafford, and this latest blow must be tough to take – both physically and mentally.
Sometimes, transfers just don’t work out. Personally, I wouldn’t be against letting him leave when the January transfer window rolls aroud. Why not get his huge wages off the bill, while allowing Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford more minutes to improve. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that United started to struggle the moment Sanchez walked through the door…
