Manchester United dealt double defensive injury blow ahead of Ipswich game

Cup action is on the agenda for Manchester United tonight. With Mick McCarthy bringing his Ipswich side to Old Trafford for a Capital One Cup fixture. However, ahead of the game, United have been dealt a cruel defensive injury blow, leaving them extremely short at the back.

The pair of Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair will not feature in the match, in a fixture that both of them would have likely started. The extent of the injuries are yet unknown, but hopefully they are just small knocks rather than long-term problems.

Its a huge shame for both of them really, but for different reasons. Marcos Rojo was returning to fitness after his participation in the Copa America meant a delayed start to his season. On the other hand, Paddy McNair is going to find his starting options limited, and it would’ve been an excellent chance for him to prove his worth.
