Manchester United dealt major transfer blow ahead of January window

Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal clearly has a close relationship with several members of the Dutch national side, and one man whom he looked extremely tight knit with during the World Cup was Arjen Robben. Inevitably, links suggesting the winger might make the move to United have been quite common recently.

However those reports have been quashed directly at the source, as Robben has claimed he and his family are extremely happy in Munich.

“I am happy in Munich – my family is happy in Munich and my contract runs until 2017.” Robben said. “You can’t look too far forward in football, but everything is fine at the moment – I hope things continue this way.”

So despite reports suggesting Robben isn’t happy in Bavaria, it looks as though the experienced winger is still enjoying life in Germany. By the time his current deal ends Robben will be 33, and you cannot imagine Manchester United will sanction a big-money move for him at that stage in his career.
