Manchester United dealt massive January transfer blow regarding 23-year-old – report

Manchester United’s interest in talented right-back Fabinho is well documented, with Jose Mourinho a huge fan of the Brazilian. However, it looks as though the Red Devils will have to turn their attentions elsewhere, as the Manchester Evening News say that no deal will happen in January.

The 23-year-old has come out and stated that he will not be moving away from AS Monaco in the middle of the season, which does make sense as it is notoriously tough to adapt to a new league at that point. Let’s not forget his current side have an excellent chance at progressing into the Champions League knockout stages as well.

With Antonio Valencia ageing and out injured at the moment, it only really leaves us with Matteo Darmian in that area of the field which obviously isn’t ideal.

Personally, I’d like to see Timothy Fosu-Mensah given a chance to prove his worth with a good string of games, but sadly I don’t see Jose taking such a huge risk on a youngster at this point in time.
