Manchester United dealt transfer blow ahead of January window opening

Manchester United’s back room staff are clearly busy planning for the upcoming January transfer window, with Louis van Gaal already identifying several targets and options that he could potentially bring in to bolster the squad.

One man who we’ve been reportedly keen on over the last six months or so is Southampton forward Sadio Mane, but today, his manager has quashed any chances of him leaving in January.

“You can ask every week about Sadio going to Manchester United or Chelsea but we will sell nobody in January.” Ronald Koeman was quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

There is no doubting that Sadio Mane would significantly improve our front line, and he’d bring in that pace that the manager has been desperately craving. He’d certainly come with a hefty price tag however, and it doesn’t look like any deal will happen until at least the summer.
