It looks as though Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United transfer woes are set to continue, with Gareth Bale ‘very happy’ at Real Madrid.
That’s according to new Los Blancos boss Julen Lopetegui, per the Independent. The Welshman had hinted that he may be on the move following Madrid’s third Champions League title in a row, but clearly, things have changed.
Zinedine Zidane has left his post as manager, while Cristiano Ronaldo has also departed. That leaves Bale with an opportunity to be the main man; something which he’ll no doubt relish.
United had been linked with a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur man, but it looks as though that chase has been ended.
To be honest, can you really blame him for wanting to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu? Madrid are doing something pretty special in Europe at the moment, why wouldn’t Bale want to be involved in that?
Now, though, it’s time for United to move on and look at other potential transfer targets. With time running down in the window, the Red Devils will have to act quickly to push deals over the lie. Hopefully, we’re welcoming at least one new face before the deadline passes…
