Manchester United slumped to yet another 0-0 draw at home to West Ham this weekend, with Louis van Gaal’s side putting in another lacklustre performance that wasn’t all that appeasing on the eye. However there was one positive, as United handed a debut to Guillermo Varela.
The 22-year old right-back has been on the clubs books for a few years now, and he came on at half-time to provide more natural ability in the full-back position.
Shortly after the game, the Uruguayan took to Twitter to thank God for a huge opportunity in his career.
Its always nice to see youngsters get their chance, and for me he played well despite being thrown in right at the deep end.
Thank you God for this new opportunity in my career Gracias dios por esta nueva oportunidad en mi carrera #futbol?⚽️ pic.twitter.com/6ZuMFroD0j
