Manchester United defender attracting even more interest amid links of an Old Trafford exit: report

Last week, we learnt of news that Juventus were interested in bringing in Matteo Darmian on a permanent deal, potentially as a replacement for the outbound Dani Alves. The right-back has been in and out of the team since his arrival at Old Trafford, and a move back home could be tempting for him.

Now it looks as though there is further interest in the 27-year-old, and it comes from talkSPORT who cite reports in Italy. They are claiming that Darmian is now being viewed as a potential option for Inter Milan, who are ready to rekindle their interest in the former Torino man.

Darmian, who started the Europa League final as a left-back, had a mixed season overall. He started slowly under Jose Mourinho but as the season wore on, it became evident that the gaffer was quite reliant upon the Italy international, probably due to his versatility.

However, if the player wants to leave then I don’t think it’d be right to stand in his way. A move back home, with the potential of playing for one of the Serie A big-boys must be an attractive proposition.

I will say that if Inter Milan are serious about signing Darmian, perhaps some sort of player-plus-cash deal could be arranged with them involving Ivan Perisic; who has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.
