Manchester United defender being targeted by Italian giant

Manchester United Football Club are looking like a different side under Jose Mourinho already, with our new manager looking to implement his ideas and plans on the squad. Now, that overhaul looks set to continue with Matteo Darmian moving on.

That’s according to Italian reports, who say that AS Roma have made contact with Manchester United about the possibility of taking the former Torino man.

Darmian, 26, only signed for United last summer in a deal worth around £12million, and over the first half of the season it looked like a real bargain buy. However, as time went on, the performances from the Italian became progressively worse, and he inevitably lost his place in the side.

In terms of right-backs, United do have a few options. Antonio Valencia is seemingly leading the way at the moment, and he has back-up from Timothy Fosu-Mensah who looks a real talent. There has also been reports about a potential move for Fabinho of AS Monaco, who’d certainly bring something more to the table.
