Manchester United defender understands he will be a backup when star returns

Manchester United Football Club have a whole host of injuries that are currently running through the first-team squad, and certainly hampering our chances at silverware. The defence is a serious issue, particularly the left-back slot, as Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw are both out missing.

According to the usually reliable Andy Mitten, Marcos Rojo has admitted that when Luke Shaw returns from his serious injury, the Argentine will once again become a backup to the England left-back.

Luke Shaw made a fantastic start to the season before his injury, and he is without doubt one of the best full-backs in the country when fit and on form, but this is why football is a squad game, and every side challenging for the title needs players like a Marcos Rojo, who can come into the side in numerous positions and do an excellent job.

The fans love Rojo, his passion is brilliant to see and he always wears his heart on his sleeve. Hopefully he can come back from shoulder surgery sooner rather than later, because left-back is a real issue at this point in time.
