Manchester United didn’t hold talks about Arturo Vidal whilst negotiating Evra deal

Although Evra’s move to Juventus looks like it’ll be sealed today, Manchester United didn’t talk about the prospect of Arturo Vidal moving the other way whilst negotiations were taking place. This does seem quite bizarre, but maybe Manchester United simply aren’t interested in the Chilean star.

This information comes from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who adds that the two clubs have talked about Arturo Vidal in the past. At the moment there is no negotiations going on, and Manchester United still haven’t made any advances towards Arturo Vidal.

It does some odd though, that if the two clubs are actively negotiating Evra’s move, and they’ve not once mentioned Vidal. Perhaps that Juventus have told United not to bother with Vidal until the Evra deal is complete. At this stage, its all guesswork to be honest.

Maybe United are actively pursuing other targets first, or maybe they don’t think he’s a realistic option for this summer as Juventus will probably be unwilling to sell. I guess we’ll never actually know until some solid information from either club comes out, and I’d imagine we’ll hear something concrete in the not too distant future.
