Manchester United are yet to bring in any new players during the transfer window, with the Red Devils starting the summer period slowly. However, there is still plenty of time, heck the window doesn’t officially open for another few days yet!
One player that we’ve been quite heavily linked with is Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic. The 28-year-old winger plays as a left-sided attacker; a position in our team that wasn’t really nailed down by anyone during Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge.
Now according to The Sun, who cite reports in Italy, United are edging closer to signing the Croatian winger for a fee in the region of £45million – as Inter have already begun looking for a replacement.
This could be the clearest indication yet that Perisic is indeed about to leave Milan, and although we don’t know for definite as to where he could be heading, I’d like to think that we’re in the running to bring him in.
I’m a big fan of Perisic. He’s one of those guys that is often overlooked for some reason or another, but every time I have watched him play for both club and country – he’s been mightily impressive.
He fits the United mould perfectly. Quick, full of tricks and is a great crosser of the ball. Creating opportunities was one of our biggest issues last term, and I’ve no doubts that this guy would go an awfully long way to correcting that – if he signs, of course.
