Manchester United are a side that have been struggling to score goals this term, and the main reason for that is Wayne Rooney’s poor form since the beginning of the campaign. However, Louis van Gaal could be looking to solve that problem with a move for a striker in January.
According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United could make a move for Mainz striker, Yoshinori Muto. The fee to bring him to Old Trafford is thought to be somewhere around the £10million mark, with the 23-year old being in great form since the start of the season.
Muto has a considerably better goalscoring record than our current captain at this point in time, as he has scored seven goals to Wayne Rooney’s two. Also laying on two assists for his teammates, where Rooney has one.
The main factor has to be his age however. He’s only 23 and has plenty more room for development, whereas Wayne Rooney is certainly coming to the latter stages of his career, and he looks bereft of any kind of confidence at the moment.
