Manchester United eye talented 24-year-old as Zlatan Ibrahimovic replacement: report

Manchester United plan to sign Andrea Belotti as a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to The Metro per Yahoo Sports.

Ibrahimovic, 36, made his return from injury before the new year, but has since been sidelined for another month. The Swede, whos contract expires in the summer, is, in my opinion, looking likely to leave Old Trafford; hence the need for a replacement.

Belotti is currently plying his trade in the Serie A for Torino, and last season, the Italian scored a mightily impressive 28 goals in 38 games across all competitions, which probably led to Jose Mourinho’s interest in the forward.

From what I’ve seen of Belotti, he’d be the perfect replacement for Ibrahimovic and his physical, yet hard-working style of play reminds me very much of a Harry Kane-type player.

However, it is likely that Torino will demand a colossal transfer fee to tempt them into selling, and I’d have my doubts about Belotti actually wanting to come here, because the chances are, he’d be playing second-fiddle to Romelu Lukaku for the most part.

I’d love for us to sign Belotti but at this point in time, I don’t see it happening. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this one plays out, though.
