Manchester United Football Club are interested in signing Watford’s Richarlison in a £40million deal, the Daily Mail is claiming, per the Daily Star.
Apparently, The Hornets value the Brazilian at around £40million, which would be huge profit on the £12million that they roughly paid to acquire his services less than one year ago.
What’s concerning to me is the report reckons that Jose Mourinho is set to overhaul his squad, with The Star claiming that Richarlison could be seen as an Anthony Martial replacement.
For whatever reason, the Frenchman just hasn’t been given Mourinho’s full backing. More often than not we see him wallowing away on the substitutes bench; which is extremely disappointing.
I just don’t see the sense in spending £40million on a young talent when we have a better player already within the squad. Martial has the potential to be world-class, and I, like many other United fans, would be gutted if we let him go so easily.
With all that said, it’s certainly going to be an intriguing summer window. With Mourinho at the helm who knows what’ll happen to some of our young stars. Hopefully, not another Mohamed Salah or Kevin de Bruyne situation is on our hands…
